Talia Ranier

About me
Hello, I'm Talia Ranier and I am a multimedia artist and art educator living in Los Angeles. I have had a diverse educational and career history, which has afforded me the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of media. At the moment I am most focused on drawing, printmaking, digital illustration, sculpture, sewing, photography, and applying makeup.
Currently I am a student at the Cinema Makeup School pursuing a long-time passion for makeup artistry, with a particular love of special effects makeup and creature design. Before attending CMS, I worked as a full-time high school teacher. I created original curricula for Digital Photography, AP Studio Art, Intro to Art, and AP Art History courses. My photography unit, Profiles of Place, was the focus of my Master's Thesis, which I received in the spring of 2019.
Prior to becoming a credentialed teacher, I have worked as a portrait photographer, graphic designer, tutor, camp counselor, video editor, cabinet maker's assistant, and even barista! However, my love of art and art education goes even further back. I have a Bachelor of Fine Art in Photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art and before that became a serious art student at the phenomenal high school, the Baltimore School for the Arts.
Ever since I was a kid, I have always been making something. My next adventure will be with 3D printing! So stay tuned!
